2024 SANTA CRUZ OVERNIGHT/EXTENDED DAY CAMP

Time: All Day for Overnight, 8:30 AM - 8:15 PM for Extended Day

CAMP HIGHLIGHTS/ IMPORTANT INFO FOR PROSPECTIVE CAMPERS

  • 8:1 camper to coach ratio

  • Typically 4 campers to a room .. plus a coach or two on each floor

  • Santa Cruz Boardwalk/Beach Visit

    • Bring Swimsuit and towel for the beach

  • Meals are pre determined and are served buffet style

    • Special arrangements can be made for campers with specific dietary restrictions

  • Individual Development Sessions

    • Focused on Improving Individual Skill

  • Team Development Sessions

    • Focused on Improving Team Concepts 

  • Daily Controlled Scrimmages

    • Coaches Ref and will stop the scrimmage to utilize teaching moments but the idea is to get kids playing games each day

  • 3x Competition

    • We play 3x each day which is 3v3 lacrosse with a tennis ball on a small goal. The idea is to get a lot of touches in a small space and the game helps breed creativity.

  • DROP OFF / PICK UP

    • Overnight 

      • Drop off on First Day : 12-1PM @  School Lodging

      • Pick Up on Last Day: 12-1PM @  School Lodging

    • Day Camper: 

      • Drop Off: 1-130PM @ Field (Day 1)

      • Pick Up: 11-1130 @ Field (Day 4)

      • Drop Off: 8:30-9AM @ Field (Day 2 + 3)

      • Pick UP: 8PM-815PM @ Field (Day 2 + 3)

2:00 - 4:30 PM Afternoon Session or Activity/Beach Day*
5:30 PM Dinner
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Night games on fields
8:30 PM Day Camper Pick up
8:30 PM - 9:30 PM Snack, Movies, Games and Fun at dorms
9:30/10:00 PM Lights out!

*BEACH day. Campers will enjoy having down time to enjoy the beach and ocean and playing with new and old friends.

ALL Campers Checklist:

Sneakers - for free play and walking activities

Backpack/ Bag to take stuff to the beach

Lacrosse Equipment:

Girls Lacrosse Stick, Goggles or Headgear, mouth guard, cleats

Boys Lacrosse Stick, All pads, cleats, helmet, mouth guard

Short Stick: All players including Defenders and LSM must bring a short stick in addition

Water and Water Bottles: Water will be available on site, but please bring reusable water containers to reduce unnecessary waste.

OPTIONAL - Stringing Kit: Coaches will teach the players who are interested in the intricacies of stringing their own stick. This will occur while we are in between on field sessions. Players should bring their own mesh stringing kit and a lacrosse head to string. Stringing Kit Options

Packing List for Overnight Campers - Please note No linens or pillow provided - YOU must bring everything you need for comfort - sleeping bag, sheets, blankets, pillow, pillow case. Bring what makes you comfortable when you are away from home.

Towel(s) for Shower

Fitted sheets (optional, twin size)

Pillow and Pillow case

Toiletries

Underwear, shorts, socks and t-shirts for four days

Sweatshirt and pants (temperatures may dip in the evening)

Shoes (sneakers, cleats, slip on shower shoes/flip flops)

Water bottle

Swim suit, beach towel, sunscreen and hat - Backpack/bag to take stuff to the beach.

ADDITIONAL NOTES for Camp:

ADVNC Camps have on staff athletic trainers at each field. Please submit medical forms to indicate any medical/special conditions to advise ADVNC staff.

Snacks; players can bring their own snacks however they should be non-perishable. The snacks would be kept with the players in their lunch bags or coolers.

Lunch and Dinner; are provided for day campers, starting with Dinner on the first day. Lunch is not provided on check in day or on the last day for ANY (overnight or extended day) campers.

Technology; players are allowed to bring their phones, if they have one. However, video game consoles are not allowed. Players will be in activities almost all camp so screen time is going to be actively discouraged.

Extra spending money; kids bring anywhere from 20 to 100 dollars, if only to spend on t-shirts/sweatshirts and snacks at the store as well as on the Boardwalk. Families are able to purchase gear on the day of pick up as well.
